Background

This family's journey with Shropshire Adventures began long before education was part of the conversation. Their granddaughter first came for Horse Experiences to help her cope with Autism, school-based trauma and social anxiety. What they saw in those early sessions, the calm environment, the gentle pace, the way she was understood, showed them what the right setting could make possible.

Finding the Right Fit

Finding suitable alternative provision had felt impossible. But two years in the Shropshire Adventures 16+ Academy changed everything. The academy's holistic, individual approach helped her rebuild confidence, rediscover her abilities and feel safe enough to grow. Five years on, that same ethos continues to shape her progress every day.

K's Story

Their granddaughter isn't the only one who found her place here. K, now a long-standing learner at the 16+ Academy, describes it as the first educational experience that has ever truly worked. Staff took time to understand K as a person, not just a student, making learning enjoyable again and helping them navigate challenges they never thought possible.
